FOR ME PERSONALLY, A PIECE OF LUGGAGE SHOULD NOT SHOUT FOR ATTENTION. IT SHOULD BE EVALUATED—JUST LIKE A GOOD SUIT OR PERFECT SHOES.

As a product designer what do you expect from your luggage?

Designer or not—travel-related items have to be tough, to be carried around the world several times. For me personally, a piece of luggage should not shout for attention. It should be evaluated—just like a good suit or perfect shoes—based on the right proportions, materials and details.

What are the five essential items in your handluggage?

Headphones, my sketchbook, dental floss, and two Ragusa chocolate bars as hospitality gifts.

What is your favourite Airport?

If you regularly fly from or to Zurich airport you are really lucky. Everything works perfectly.

Do you have a secrete weapon against jet lag?

Lots of fresh air. Flying a kite, getting on a boat, driving a convertible.

What is your next destination?

I’m heading with the family to Barcelona for a few weeks. It’s a complete city by the sea and I love the calm vibes in the hinterland. Perfect for the spring season.

What do you most enjoy when you're back in Zurich?

The recorded greeting on the train in three languages—it lasts almost as long as the ride from the airport to the city!
