Helping to Go Further
Empowering refugees through free education
In 2020, our social programme, Horizn Together provided displaced and disadvantaged youth with access to education. Overcoming boundaries and working to create equal opportunities is of utmost importance to us and, with the contribution of our ever-growing community, we always work to create an impact on the lives of those who find themselves in hopeless circumstances. Together, we open new horizons – all over the world.
"Kiron has helped me to connect and build bridges, transfer to a university, and follow my dreams."
About Kiron Campus
For many teenagers and young adults around the world, education is their only chance at belonging to safe and prosperous environments. Forcefully displaced people and underserved communities are facing major barriers in accessing education: 97% of refugees globally have no access to higher education. Our brilliant partner Kiron delivers free high-quality digital education to them.
3% for a fair chance
Sharing Kiron’s belief that education can transform lives, we strongly support their vision that high-quality education can enable individuals to go further. In 2020, we donated the temporary VAT rate cut of three per cent to Kiron. This means that with every purchase, you supported students in need. Looking back on a fruitful collaboration, we look forward to continuing our partnership in the near future.
“Education is a way out for a lot of refugee youth and gives them the freedom to have self-reliance and mobility,” says Julia Pazos of Kiron. In conversation with Horizn Studios, she talks about the importance of making education accessible in times of crisis. With only three per cent of refugees worldwide having access to higher education, how can technology foster new opportunities to break cycles of vulnerability and poverty?
